Joker – This movie has got nominations in total 11 categories – Best Picture, Direction, Best Actor, Adapted Screen Play, Makeup and Hairstyling, Cinematography, Film Editing, Original Score, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Costume Design.

‘Joker’ tells the story of Joker, the super villain of ‘Gotham’, a fictional town in DC Comics. It tells how joker became a clown.

Parasite – A South Korean Movie, about which we were all hoping that it would be nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category. But going beyond the expectations of all of us, it got a total of 6 nominations at the Oscars 2020. Among these, with the nominations for Best Foreign Language Film category, it is also named in the original screenplay, direction and nominations of Best Picture. A few days ago, at the Golden Globes Award, ‘Parasite’ bagged three nominations and one prize (Best Foreign Language Film).

‘Parasite’ is the story of two families. One rich one poor. The term parasite is used as a metaphor. For those who depend on others, almost encroaching.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood – ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘Kill Bill’ fame another quintessence of Quentin Tarantino. Adorned with Hollywood superstars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Al Pacino. A strain on Hollywood’s golden period. ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ received a total of 10 nominations at the Oscars nominations 2020 – Best Feature Film, Direction, Best Actor, Original Screenplay, Cinematography, Production Design, Supporting Actor, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Costume Design.

The Irish Man – A few days after its release, this movie started streaming on Netflix. Martin Scorsesey’s, The director of cult movies like ‘Goodfellas’, ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ and ‘Taxi Driver’; is also the director of “The Irish Man”. This is an adaptation of a novel called I Heard You Paint Houses (I heard you paint houses).

The story of the movie is based on real characters such as Frank Sheeran and Russell Bufalino and features the Italian underworld of the US in ‘Scorsese style’.

Apart from these, the movies which are going to be named again and again on February 09 include ‘1917’, ‘Marriage Story’, ‘Ford vs Ferrari’ and ‘The Two Pops’.

# Best Actor – Antonio Banderas (‘Pain and Glory’), Leonardo DiCaprio (‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’), Adam Driver (‘Marriage Story’), Walkin Phoenix (‘Joker’) and Jonathan Price (‘The Two Pops’).

# Best Actress – Cynthia Arrivo (‘Harriet’), Scarlett Johansson (‘Marriage Story’), Sarsha Ronan (‘Little Woman’), Chalise Theron (‘Bombshell’) and Rene Zellweger (‘Judy’).

# Supporting actors – Tom Hanks (‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood’), Anthony Hawkins (‘The Two Pops’), Al Pacino (‘The Irish Man’), Joe Pesci (‘The Irish Man’) and Brad Pitt ( ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’).
