She was born on 31 March 1938 in Kapurthala, Punjab. While his entire education was done at Jesus and Mary Convent School, Delhi. He was married to Hui, a UP IAS officer, Vinod Dixit, son of Umashankar Dixit, the former governor of Bengal.
Learned political trick from father in law
Smt. Sheila Dixit learned the tricks of politics from her father-in-law, who was the Home Minister in Indira Gandhi cabinet. She was the Chief Minister of Delhi for 15 years (1998 to 2013) as well as the President of the Congress.

In her autobiography, Sheila Dikshit told that in her time she used to get 5 rupees pocket money, which she used to buy colourful footwear with simple design for herself.
Demise of Sheila Dikshit
Sheila Dixit, known for her courage and good deeds, died on July 20, 2019. Due to a heart attack, she said goodbye to this world. Even if she is not living in this world, her untouchable work done by her will always keep her alive in the hearts of people.
